THE ART OF ROCK CLIMBING.
Who thought i would join a truckload of 15 people on a rock-climbing trip yesterday?
Yeah, so i was ill with a sore throat and had to miss squash but i was insistent on going so i sucked on 3(yes THREE) of some tablet medicine i found in the fridge and it didnt feel too bad. It didnt spoil the trip, but it did hamper it a little. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable all the same. :)
However when we arrived we realised that we couldnt start till 4pm because there was an ongoing party at the center. Drat it, we had more than 2 hrs to kill so my aunt hauled us all into a restaurant for lunch.
Yup. You wouldnt believe the amount of food that was ordered.
Including...
Pig paus! :D :D
Cousin decided to give pig pau some mint hair.
After that we ambled around for an hour or so before heading to the rock-climbing area.
The first sight that greeted us.
Took the eight of us climbing quite awhile to get into gear. Including special shoes, harness and a nervous look up the climbing wall. :P
The auto wall was split into 3 sections : Easy, Medium and Difficult.
Naturally i started with the easy path first. Hey it was my first climb kay?
Although they extended our session for us i didnt get to climb that much because there were EIGHT of us and only three instructors. And yes i successfully scaled my first wall. :D
Was abit of a coward though when i made it to the top and was supposed to let go of the wall and swing down. Almost chickened out haha.
Unfortunately, i forgot to ask somebody to grab a photo of me climbing. And i myself forgot to grab photos of my cousins climbing. Shyte. -_-
The Difficult Level. It has less of those jutting rocks which are also smaller in size to make it more challenging.
Joni tried it twice and failed twice. She got stuck less than a quarter of the way both times LOL :P. And both times she eventually gave in saying she couldnt find any rocks to grab on.
Shau Sze attempted next and made it.
Nicholas shinned up as if he was spider-man. 0_0
Some boy tried and managed to finish to the top.
His bro tried but failed.
Then I tried... and reached the top! :D HAHA SUCCESS. *Bangga.
Ropes. Harness. You're check.
When i came down Fei Sian attempted to climb but didnt fare any better than Joni.
I wanted to try the medium wall but our session had ended. T_T Too many people were taking turns and i only climbed 2 walls.
Still, not bad for a first time.
Just for kids.
It kept the younger ones entertained anyway.
Because we didnt capture any pics of us doing the real climbing, we decided to fake it because by the time we realised our mistake our session was over and it was too late.
(Notice that i'm not roped to my harness) XD
Melissa.
Joni.
Aside from not being roped to our harnesses, i bet you saw its the same wall and there's no instructor. Well, i figured since it was so obvious i might as well admit it right?
The center's cafe had ice-cream in the shape of rock climbing walls! LOL cute aint it. :D
After that we went to have ice-cream ourselves at Baskin Robbins. Needed the extra glucose supply.
I really must go rock climbing again. So tempted to try the more difficult courses available...
except next time i wont graze my knuckles climbing. X)
one word : AWESOME.
