CNY! :D

I'm back at last! Wa these days keep travelling up and down; back and forth. Tiring betul. But anyway... my four days of CNY 2009...

FIRST DAY

Set off for Kampar?

i was fully equipped with stuff to pass the time. Lets see.. snacks, phone, iPod.... oh wait thats abt it....

... i ended up using only 2 items anyway lol.


My phone created various ways to amuse me...


.. and even my bro. XD




Unfortunately he fell asleep after like, what, 15 minutes??? So i had to turn to other things to entertain myself.


Things that move outside the window, that is.

But in the end it was my iPod that did most of the work. We reached in time for the reunion dinner! :D

DAY II

Started off with... the traditional lion dance. For sure.


i had to take it from the balcony; cos i couldnt get ready in time to go down. Lol; okay i just woke up. X)




WHERE"D YOU GOING???

Lol the lone lion went and "danced" at the dining area by itself. ZZZzz.


See those 2 girls at the right-hand top of the pic?? Yah they were pointing and whispering at me like i was what, an alien?? What you nvr seen a person in pajamas on the balcony with a phone taking pics?? After all this IS my house you know and dont think i didnt see you eventhough i was half asleep!!! And you're the guests and not even doing the dance so show some respect man ppl. GRRRRRRR. > : (

This is SARAH! :D :D Isnt she ADORABLE???? And she's my second niece. Waaaay cuter than my first one on my mum's side lol. XD



She is such a good baby. She was so nice to hug and cuddle. <3

Obviously, i collected the first of my angpows. It isnt as much as you think. Heh.

Mah Jong, anybody?


Oh definitely. But not for me obviously. I had no idea whatsoever what they were doing. i just watched.


My aunt kept winning LOL. XD My cousin won occasionally; Dad didnt win at all. XD

While watching them play mahjong i helped Vivian pack some angpow..


i love the smell of new notes; who doesnt? Was so tempted to grab one and run off like a jakun. XD hahahahaha. Thankfully i was THAT honest.

For dinner we had. . .



STEAMBOAT! :P


Heck yeah. My grandmother's steamboat is the best. <3

DAY III

On this day we collected more angpow; the most actually. There more guests at least heheh. i kept going like, " Happy New Year" for how many, 30 times???



But the second its over we go back to this room; coming out either only to get food or when we can get any angpow XD. We spent abt 90% of our time in here. It had everything we needed: Privacy, AirCond, TV with tennis , laptop with internet. And not to be forgotten, a nice comfy sofa bed too XP. Most of the time joe hogged the laptop with his games.


And i hogged the tv with my tennis. X)

Except occasionally when we switch. . .



i'm sorry i was bored.


Whelan was bored too. XD


We all shared one room. i had to share a double bed with my bro; YUCK. Not that its gross; he just has a habit of turning his body 180 degrees while he sleeps. And then in the morning you amazingly find yourself on the floor. Hmph.

There was so many yummy FOOD. i ate so MUCH, especially the cookies. Sobs. T.T

Ohhhhhh. The guilt. T.T



Thankfully, they had a treadmill :D. Poor treadmill. I think when i used it , it was only a first in months.

On our last evening, we went for a walk around the area.


We live on top of the hill.


We walked UP. ;) Joel liked it least of all. XD

Eventually Joe got left behind beos he was slow and we were fast. Man he didnt half complain.


On the way, we spotted this weird fruit growing on a tree by the side of the road!
Can anybody name it? ;D
And NO, its not a pomelo and its definitely NOT a watermelon!


The hill we were supposed to hike. But it rained, so we got let off the hook :D

We went to one of my uncle's house on the way cos my dad wanted to take the dog for a walk.

Dad LOVES dogs. He can still rmb his old dog Trooper.


This is my uncle's dog Toto. He is so cute despite his size.


i had a turn at walking him.


He was fast. 0.o


Then Dad took the leash;


and later Joel. He was again; the least successful. XD


Toto in his house. My Dad is still harping abt him. He wants a dog so bad lol.

My uncle's pond filled with potential piranha-like koi fish. WARNIG:They ARE aggressive. VERY



Discus fish. My grandparents have been rearing discus fish since before i was born.


"My grandfather's clock was too large for the shelf; so it stood 90 years on the floor."

Thats a stupid rhyme i picked up somewhere in a book when i was younger. In this case; the rhyme comes true. A grandfather clock belonging to my grandfather. But this is a very old grandfather clock. And i still cant help but stare at the heavy pendulum. Its somehow very hypnotizing when it swings left right. And it still chimes after all these years!

DAY IV

We came home. Late thanks to the jam. No matter. i ended up with:

Again; its not as much as you think. XD

It was the best CNY overall. And no i didnt wear a cheongsam! Never did. never will. ._.

And so goes my CNY for this year. Looking forward to it NEXT year. ;D

Olah from Kampar!

Ello there ppl! Yes i'm still here in Kampar for the CNY celebrations. I'm blogging straight from Whelan's laptop... yup his laptop has become a playtoy for my bro and an entertainment tool for me to just surf the net because i hv nothing better to do. i couldnt be bothered to blog the last 2 days cos tennis on tv was way to absorbing and when i hv the tv all to myself its the best oppurtunity to watch as much tennis as i can when i cant do so at home.

Most ppl already have gone balik kampung to their respective hometowns; this year i dont find my trip as boring as before cos there's much more to do. Like have the tv all to ourselves. XD

i'v collected about 22 angpow-- a far cry from my target which i think only a miracle can help achieve it. i was stupid to think i could collect that much. There havent been many guests as usual and its already the second day so i think i've collected my last angpow today. :D

No matter, i've been eventfully joyful since yesterday when Feds won a nail-biting 5-setter ( heck did he give me a scare) and was even more lighthearted when i found out Murray had been kicked out in another 5-setter(AHAHAHAHAHAHHA IN YOUR FACE MURRAY), and right now i'm having my arms in the air in jubilation as Djokovic has just retired. XD Thats really too bad with him being the def. champ but i nvr liked him anyway. Alright, Djokovic out, Murray out, Feds in, Nadal in. Nadal better slap Tsonga hard if they meet in the semis. Federer is playing later today against del Potro and although i love del potro i want Feds to win. He better. Or else Djokovic's and Murray's going out will be just worthless.

Enough on tennis for now. This is what happens when tennis season comes; i get carried away. Today is our last full day in Kampar, before we head home tmr. Will post pics of CNY when i get home. Till then, so long and enjoy CNY! :D

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR OF THE OX!

Tmr we're heading back to Kampar for the CNY celebrations. I'm nt too keen on this; i mean, Kampar is like an ancient town and there's literally no entertainment whatsoever. But still; gotta respect my grandma's wishes.

Steff and Kor will not be going down as usual. They nvr do. As a result, me and Joe are compulsory visitors or it'll upset Grandma. But no matter; the best thing to do is collect ANGPOW. Oh, MONEY! Yesh im money-minded. $_$

But anyway, i cant blog for the next three days, so this is my current las post to wish everyone a

VERY HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR of the Ox.:D
May this year bring tons of prosperity, wealth, joy and health.

Now im exhausted. And i hv to get up early tmr for a long journey.

Ok, tennis is incredibly addictive. Australian Open is currently running now and its all abuzz with the excitement and unpredicament of this first tournament of the season. i keep watching tennis till mum is scolding me saying "Nadal isnt gonna help u score A in your Physics you know!"

Well he wont. Then maybe Feds will. XD alright now im off to tennis :D
