NEARING THE END.
Safin's last tournament has come and its rather hard to believe tennis without him. :(
This post is dedicated to Marat Safin for all his unconditional "contributions" during his colorful tennis career before he retires after his final tournament at the Paris Masters.
So i'm not into Safin as much as i am into Rafa and Feds, but who cant love the guy when he provides such entertaining performances on court. :D
THE COMMEMORATION OF MARAT SAFIN.
He started out as a fresh tennis prodigy, winning his maiden Grand Slam at the US Open in 2000 by defeating Pete Sampras.
Five years later, he captured the Australian Open by defeating Lleyton Hewitt for his second Grand Slam.He won a total of 2 Grand Slams in total, and continued his career by entertaining us with his..er...anger on court.
You dont mess with the SAFIN. XD
He means it, you know.Usually, the umpire bears the brunt of his rages. Goodness knows how many videos there are of him taking it out with the umpire during a match over a foot fault, a line call, or some other reason.
CODE NAME : RACQUET ABUSER.
Yup. He smashed an average total of 700 racquets during his career and picked up 90,000 pounds in fines for his outbursts. Which, of course, is what makes him so Safin. :P
Also, Safin plays the highly important role of big brother! XD
I find this pic super hilarious, for some reason i cant explain. I mean, how often do you get two siblings to play mixed doubles together?SAFIN : Excuse me? Out? You really wanna test my anger?
SAFINA : I think i'll let him handle this..
Besides, he is the best of friends with the world's top players! :D
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.How gay. ;/
But Safin will always be irreplaceable, and he's a true gentleman off court, and a champion always on the court.
You just gotta love him.(Steff stop drooling please).
May you retire with many of the best happy memories tennis has given you, and the everlasting love of your fans all over the globe. You are always a champion in our eyes. :)Have fun with life after tennis! :) :)
Okay getting abit lame-o there. And forgive my promise to quit tennis-blogging, actually i didnt really break it since i did mention i would be blogging at the end of the season.
AND JIA; ITS NOT NADAL SO YOU CANT COMPLAIN HAH.
Told you so. >:P
And in a totally-unrelated subject, i stumbled upon this unintentionally while hunting for Safin pictures..
I know im a Federer fan but this was just to funny to pass over. XDFinally, Feds is wearing pink! LOL.
I'll miss watching Safin play with his trademark shrug and trademark arguements and trademark muttering and cursing and racquet smashing. He is, after all the only Safin classic we'll ever get in a lifetime and a rare gem that should be treasured forever.
(Hey Steff rmb this photo we saw on the youtube video??? You know what happened. XD hehehehehehhhh)one word : MARAT.
