True Blood

It seems my grandmother's previous remarks on me have come true XD.

Took that during last-minute hustles for pictures with the baby in the sling. Mum was being a huge fusspot, oh, I want to see the baby's face, oh, look, she's so cute, d'awww... I miss babies.... GAHH. Mum, for the last time, It's. A. Doll. And when I randomly took a spot by the window she snapped and got this result.

My grandma always said I was like an "Orang Melayu". XD Though it was a long time ago, when I was a youngster, extremely tanned from the swimming classes I took, had long black hair, dark eyes, and looked nothing like a Chinese. Oh, and I also had an aversion to pork, and refused to eat pork when we were in Kampar for the Chinese New Year. I don't really know why.... I know there's a particular reason why I went on a pork strike, but I can't seem to remember. But.. yeah, getting off topic here. The point is, my mum took that pic, and was like, wow, Esther, you look like a replica of a Malay traditional woman.

I didn't expect it either, but I was bemused by the photo XD. Who knew I could be so deceptive... *cough*. And I wasn't even wearing traditional Malay clothes! I was in an Indian outfit for National Day for church service!

And, I'm very proud to be Chinese. I mean, yeah, I'm amused that I look Polynesian(or so some people say) but I'll always be very proud of my heritage. There's not much in me, I'm not some Eurasian with the best features and genetics, or of some other mixed blood, but, I'm glad to be who and what I am today.

And who said I was denying my Chinese ancestry?
